2012 2nd Grade Monster Project

For the sixth year, students in 2nd grade participated in the Monster Project. After an in-depth study of adjectives, students wrote descriptive paragraphs about monsters created on the computer. Great emphasis was placed on clearly listing the attributes of each monster feature related to size, shape, direction, number and design to help paint a detailed picture with words. The written student descriptions were then exchanged with students from other schools. The final descriptions along with the original and recreated monsters were then posted for students to view. Comparing the final monsters and analyzing how to make one's writing even better is the final key component of the project.
